Vorn Davy is a long-term beneficiary of the Cambodian Education and Development Organization (CEDO) scholarship program. She was supported by the project for nine consecutive years, from Grade 8 through university, demonstrating the importance of sustained educational support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Davy comes from a rural community located approximately one and a half hours by drive from Siem Reap town, Cambodia. Her father works as a farmer, and her mother stays at home without a stable income. Due to her family’s difficult financial situation, continuing her education would have been extremely challenging without scholarship assistance. After completing the high school program, Davy continued to receive CEDO’s support to pursue higher education. She enrolled in a Law degree at a university in Siem Reap and graduated in 2024. During her studies, she was proactive in gaining practical experience and volunteered at a law firm for three years while completing her degree. This experience strengthened her legal knowledge, professional skills, and work discipline. Davy’s dream is to work as a Court Clerk. Although she was not successful in passing the clerk examination on her first attempt, she remains highly motivated and committed to trying again in the future. Currently, Davy is employed as a Sales Administrator at a Korean Property Company, where she applies her legal knowledge, particularly in reviewing and preparing contracts. Davy’s journey reflects resilience, determination, and the ability to adapt while continuing to pursue long-term goals. Her story highlights how CEDO’s scholarship program empowers rural students—especially young women—to access education, build professional skills, and create pathways toward sustainable employment and brighter futures.
